Sister Anne Elizabeth McCambley, SSJ
Sister Anne Elizabeth McCambley SSJ, (formerly Sister Clare Agnes SSJ) age 87, died on January 12, 2025, at Saint Joseph Villa.
The daughter of the late William and Muriel (Bartlett) McCambley, she attended Corpus Christi Grade School and John W. Hallahan High School.
In September 1957 she entered the Sisters of Saint Joseph, Chestnut Hill, and professed her final vows in 1965.
Sister Anne ministered in the dioceses of Allentown, Camden, Newark, Philadelphia, and Trenton.
She is preceded in death by her sisters Andrea D’Alessandro, Sister Dana McCambley, SSJ, Ellen McCambley, and her brother, William McCambley. She is survived by her brother, Joseph McCambley, sisters Carla Ortegon, Rosemary Conners, Maris McCambley-Fowler, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and members of her Congregation, the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Philadelphia.
Services will be held 10:30 AM on February 3, 2025, at Saint Joseph Villa. Services will be live streamed from the Saint Joseph Villa website, www.stjosephvilla.org. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sister’s name to saint Joseph Villa, 110 W. Wissahickon Ave. Flourtown, Pa 19031.
