Villanova University will host “Pope Leo @ One: Augustinian, Pastoral, Prophetic” on April 28, 2026, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Connelly Center Villanova Room.
The free, public event will feature a panel discussion commemorating the first anniversary of Pope Leo XIV’s election, with speakers including
- Cardinal Robert McElroy, archbishop of Washington
- Justin McLellan, Vatican correspondent for the National Catholic Reporter
- Rev. John J. Lydon, OSA, PhD, inaugural director of Villanova’s Mother Cabrini Institute on Immigration
- Dr. Jaisy A. Joseph, assistant professor of Theology and Religious Studies at Villanova University
- and Hannah Kalamarides ’26, Villanova senior and synodal fellow in the University’s Office for Mission and Ministry.
The discussion will reflect on the pope’s first year through theological, pastoral, and journalistic perspectives.
