Sister Margaret Ann McFadden, SSJ
Sister Margaret Ann McFadden SSJ, (formerly S. Charles Annice,) age 87, died on April 21, 2026, at Saint Joseph Villa.
The daughter of the late Charles and Hannah (nee Gallagher) McFadden, she attended St. Vincent Grade School and Holy Family Academy in Bayonne, NJ.
In September 1956 she entered the Sisters of Saint Joseph, Chestnut Hill, and professed her final vows in 1964.
Sister Margaret ministered in the dioceses of Camden, Metuchen, Newark, Philadelphia and Trenton.
She is preceded in death by her sister Hannah Mary Merihew. She is survived by her brother Charles (Micky) McFadden, sister Mary Ellen (Sissie) Barry, many nieces and nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and members of her congregation, the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Philadelphia.
Friends are invited to Saint Joseph Villa beginning at 9:30 AM on Tuesday, April 28, 2026. A Mass will follow at 10:30 AM. Services will be livestreamed from the Saint Joseph Villa website www.stjosephvilla.org.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sister’s name to Saint Joseph Villa, 110 W. Wissahickon Ave., Flourtown, PA 19031.
