Sister Rosemarie S. Hagan, IHM

Sister Rosemarie Hagan, formerly known as Sister M. Thomas Vincent, died in Camilla Hall on April 21, 2026 in the 62nd year of her religious life.

Sister Rosemarie attended Most Blessed Sacrament School during the elementary grades and West Catholic Girls for high school. She entered the Immaculate Heart Sisters on June 27, 1964 making her first vows on June 28, 1966 and her final vows June 27, 1971 in Villa Maria Motherhouse Chapel.  Sister Rosemarie earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Immaculata College in history in 1971, and two certifications in Education: one in Elementary Social Studies from the Commonwealth of PA in 1974 and in 1994 she was awarded a certificate in Elementary Education from the state of Florida.

Following her first profession, Sister Rosemarie was assigned to St. Mary’s School in Phoenixville to teach first grade, moving next to grade three at St. Francis de Sales. Following the traditional Juniorate year of study in the House of Studies at Immaculata, Sister returned to grade one, first at St. Agatha School, and then in succession, at St. Matthew, Gesu, and Saints Simon and Jude School in West Chester.

In 1987 Sister Rosemarie moved out of state, first to Immaculate Conception, Somerville, NJ to teach second grade and then in 1993 to Epiphany School in Miami, also for the second grade.  Continuing to teach second grade, S. Rosemarie returned to PA to Blessed Virgin Mary School in Darby while residing at St. Cyril Convent in East Lansdowne for the next 13 years. In 2012, while remaining at the same convent, Sister Rosemarie assumed the role of superior, first at St. Cyril for the next year and then at Our Lady of Fatima Convent, Secane for the following six years. In August, 2018, Sister Rosemarie moved to St. Laurence School taking up the role of providing Religious Enrichment. In April, 2026, Sister Rosemarie moved to Camilla Hall as part of the Apostolate of Prayer and Presence. Not long after her arrival Sister Rosemarie went to God on April 25, 2026.

In addition to her IHM Community, Sister is survived by her sister Mary Straub (Hagan) her brother Vincent Hagan, her niece Lisa, her nephew Steven, a grandnephew and a grandniece. Sister was predeceased by her parents, Charles J. Hagan, and Rose Ann (Kelly) Hagan and her brother Reverend Thomas C. Hagan.

Sister Rosemarie Hagan’s Funeral Liturgy was concelebrated on Friday, May 1, 2026.  The concelebrants included Reverend Thomas Whittingham, Reverend Anthony Albanese, Reverend Francis Mulranen, and Reverend Francis Chamber, OSA.
