Allison Vinci, Ed.D.

The Archdiocese of Philadelphia’s Office of Catholic Education (OCE) announced Aug. 17 that Allison Vinci, Ed.D., has been appointed principal of Archbishop John Carroll High School in Radnor, effective immediately.

Vinci succeeds William D. Gennaro Jr., who was named the school’s next president in July by Archbishop Nelson J. Pérez.

A member of the Archbishop Carroll community for more than 20 years, Vinci has served as assistant principal for academic affairs since 2021. In that role, she helped guide the school’s academic growth and provided strategic leadership to expand opportunities for students and strengthen systems supporting student success.

Prior to that position, she served as assistant principal for student affairs and athletics, chair of the English Department, and an English teacher at Archbishop Carroll. She also has experience as an adjunct English professor at Pennsylvania Institute of Technology in Media and as a long-term substitute English teacher at Harriton High School in Rosemont.

Vinci earned a bachelor’s degree in English from Villanova University, a master’s degree in education from Cabrini University, and a doctorate in educational leadership with a concentration in K-12 education from Gwynedd Mercy University. She also holds Pennsylvania certifications as a K-12 principal and secondary English teacher for grades 7-12.

In a letter to school families, Superintendent of Secondary Schools and Schools of Special Education William E. Brannick and Archbishop Carroll President William D. Gennaro Jr. described Vinci as “an integral part” of the school’s administration for more than two decades and offered “prayerful best wishes and congratulations” as she begins her new role.
