Bishop Daniel E. Thomas offered a classroom blessing to students and staff for the start of the 2013-2014 school year at St. Katherine Day School in Wynnewood, Montgomery County. After the blessing Bishop Thomas gave each student a brown scapular and miraculous medal to wear. Christopher Mominey, chief operating officer of Faith in the Future Foundation and secretary for Catholic education of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia; Jacqueline Coccia, superintendent of elementary schools for the archdiocese; and St. Katherine’s principal, Peg Devaney, also attended the blessing and greeted students and staff. St. Katherine Day School is a special education school for mentally and physically challenged and developmentally delayed students ages 4 ½ to 21. (Video by Sarah Webb)
