St. Maria Goretti Parish in Hatfield welcomes Franciscan Father Pio Mandato to lead the parish’s 40 hours devotion Nov. 3-5. The theme of the three-day devotion is “Forgiveness Rooted in Faith.”
Father Mandato will be the celebrant and homilist for Mass and other liturgies each day. The priest, whose parents reside in Corpus Christi Parish in Lansdale, was born in Italy and received first holy Communion from St. (Padre) Pio of Pietrelcina. Father Mandato now lives a life of prayer and solitude as a missionary hermit.
The schedule of liturgies in St. Maria Goretti Church, located at Cowpath and Derstine roads in Hatfield, is as follows:
Sunday, Nov. 3
“When the Church Lets Us Down”
Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament following the 11:30 a.m. Mass. Evening prayers with benediction at 7 p.m.
All are invited for fellowship and refreshments in the church narthex at the conclusion of the evening liturgy.
Monday, Nov. 4
“When Family and Friends Fail Us”
Morning Mass at 8:30 a.m., followed by exposition of the Blessed Sacrament throughout the day.
Evening prayers with benediction at 7 p.m.
Those in need of healing are invited to remain for a healing service following benediction.
Tuesday, Nov. 5
“When We Are Our Own Worst Enemies”
Morning Mass at 8:30 a.m., followed by exposition of the Blessed Sacrament throughout the day.
A penance service will be celebrated at 7 p.m.
