Philadelphia Police Capt. Lou Campione will receive the 2026 Keys and Sword Award from the Cathedral Basilica of SS. Peter and Paul and the Shrine of Saint Katharine Drexel, honoring his nearly five decades of service to the city.

The award will be presented at the annual Keys and Sword Dinner on June 26 at 6 p.m. at The Logan Philadelphia Hotel, One Logan Square.

Established to recognize members of the civic or religious community who demonstrate faith, valor, selfless service, personal sacrifice and respect, the Keys and Sword Award is named for the symbols of Saints Peter and Paul. Previous honorees have included Catholic schools, religious communities and civic leaders in the Philadelphia region.

Campione began his career with the Philadelphia Police Department in 1977 and rose to the rank of captain in 2002. He has served in multiple districts, including the 1st and 26th, and is known for community engagement, including assisting school crossings and participating in neighborhood events.

He also serves as a Bereavement Officer and chaplain, supporting the families of fallen officers, and as a Behavioral Health Program coordinator assisting officers in crisis. He holds degrees from Temple University and Fairleigh Dickinson University.

Proceeds from the dinner will support improvement projects and ministries of the Cathedral parish. Sponsorships and program ads are available at KS Philadelphia sponsorships and KS Philadelphia program book.
