CFGP-picThe Catholic Foundation of Greater Philadelphia has made significant grants recently to several Catholic organizations in the Philadelphia Archdiocese.

Leaders of organizations interested in applying for grant assistance should visit CFGP’s website to read more about the foundation’s guidelines and to download an application. CFGP’s next grant application deadline is Jan. 15, 2016.

The grant recipients are as follows:

The Community Center at Visitation, located at Visitation B.V.M. Parish in North Philadelphia, received a $7,500 grant to support of the center’s programs that include ESL and GED training, the food pantry and the sports program.

St. Gabriel School’s grant of $5,500 will go toward installment of a new security system in the South Philadelphia school, helping to keep the children safe.

St. Martin de Porres School in North Philadelphia will use its $7,857 grant to expand the school’s Extended Day Program, which provides students with a safe place to stay while their families are not home.

The Philadelphia Archdiocesan Historical Research Center (PAHRC), the archival facility located at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in Wynnewood, received $4,180
for the purchase of a microfilm reader and printer to continue printing historical records for the archive’s clients.
