Father Dennis Fedak, pastor of Nativity Parish in Philadelphia’s Port Richmond section, celebrated the Mass of the Lord’s Supper on Holy Thursday evening, April 13 at the church. During the Mass Father Fedak washed the feet of 12 seventh grade boys and girls from Our Lady of Port Richmond School, in imitation of Jesus washing the feet of his disciples at the last supper. I am a former parishioner of Mary, Mother of the Redeemer in North Wales, now living in Cary, North Carolina and a member of St. Michael the Archangel in Cary. I miss the Arch-Dio. of Philadelphia and often visit the website. Seeing Father Dennis Fedak wash the feet of his students brought tears to my eyes. Those boys and girls will long remember this outward sign of love and humility. The seed of a vocation may have been planted. Thank you and God bless you Father Fedak.
