Father Nicholas R. Waseline, O.S.F.S., died April 18 at age 67. He was ordained a priest for the Oblates of St. Francis de Sales in Philadelphia by Auxiliary Bishop Martin Lohmuller in 1980.
Prior to his current ministry as pastor of St. Anthony of Padua Parish in Wilmington, Del., Father Waseline served as a teacher, assistant principal and principal at various Catholic high schools including as principal of Father Judge and Northeast Catholic in Philadelphia.
He also served as the novice and formation director for the Oblates’ seminary program.
Father Waseline also served as a parochial vicar at St. Joachim Parish in Philadelphia and Holy Redeemer by the Sea Parish in Kitty Hawk, N.C.
A viewing will be held Wednesday, April 25 at 2 p.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church, Ninth and DuPont Streets in Wilmington, and the funeral Mass will be celebrated at 7 p.m. Burial will follow on April 26 at 10 a.m. at the Oblate cemetery in Childs, Md.
