Sister Maria Teresa Griffin SSJ, age 98, died on July 1, 2026, at Saint Joseph Villa.

The daughter of the late Michael “Ben” and Josephine (nee Snow) Griffin, she attended Nativity Grade School and Little Flower High School.

In September 1946 she entered the Sisters of Saint Joseph, Chestnut Hill, and professed her final vows in 1954.

Sister Maria Teresa ministered in the dioceses of Allentown and Philadelphia.

She is preceded in death by her sister, Joan. She is survived by her sister, Anne Griffin, many cousins in Pennsylvania and Canada including the 5 Long brothers and their families and by members of her Congregation, the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Philadelphia.

Friends are invited to St. Joseph Villa beginning at 9:30 AM on Wednesday July 8, 2026. A Mass will follow at 10:30 AM. Services will be live streamed from the Saint Joseph Villa website www.stjosephvilla.org.
