Sister Dorothy Ann Smith, S.S.J. (formerly Sister Anne Philip), died June 8 at St. Joseph Villa in Flourtown at age 77.
Daughter of the late Walter and Mildred Smith, she was born in Philadelphia and attended Cathedral Grade School and St. Maria Goretti High School. She entered the Sisters of St. Joseph in September 1960 and professed her final vows in August 1968.
Sister Dorothy ministered in the archdioceses of Philadelphia and Baltimore and the diocese of Allentown.
She is the sister of Margaret Naughton and the late Sally Beounitis, Elsie Keyser and Elizabeth Tobin. She is also survived by nieces and nephews and members of her congregation, the Sisters of St. Joseph.
The funeral Mass was celebrated June 14 at St. Joseph Villa.
