Event Description
St. John Cantius is honored and humbled to receive a First Class relic of the late Holy Father, Saint John Paul II. This relic – a vial of blood – will be permanently enshrined in St. John Cantius Church (main entrance located on Thompson Street above Orthodox Street) on Saturday, March 16, 2019 during the 5:00 PM Mass. The main celebrant will be Archbishop Mieczyslaw Mokrzycki, who served as Saint John Paul’s personal secretary from 1996 to 2005 and is the current Archbishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Lviv, Ukraine. The Mass will be celebrated in English and Polish. Everyone is invited to attend this historic and truly special occasion with the parishioners of St. John Cantius. A light reception will follow the Mass in the auditorium. More information can be found here:
