Men considering a possible vocation to the permanent diaconate are invited to a Permanent Diaconate Discernment Day on Saturday, Oct. 3, at Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary.
The day, themed “Called to Serve as Christ the Servant,” will provide an opportunity for participants to spend time in prayer, conversation and discernment with permanent deacons, their wives, members of the Archdiocesan Clergy Office, and the Diaconal Formation Team.
The program is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is open to men ages 30 to 55. The day will include Mass in the Immaculate Conception Chapel, discernment and formation sessions, and separate breakout sessions for men and wives.
The School of Diaconal Formation at Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary is responsible for the formation of candidates for the permanent diaconate, preparing men for service in the Church through the ministries of Word, Sacrament and Charity.
