Gather at St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church on Sept. 21 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. for a special screening of the landmark documentary series, In Pursuit: Philadelphia and the Making of America.
The film explores the people, movements, and pivotal moments that have shaped Philadelphia and the nation. St. Augustine’s itself is a significant historical site, having been burned down during the notorious Nativist riots of 1844, a key episode of anti-Catholic violence in American history. The evening will encourage audiences to reflect on the ongoing struggles for freedom, equity, and civic power.
Following the screening, attendees are invited to engage in conversation featuring insights from Dr. Katie Oxx, Father Chris of St. Augustine’s, and Pastor Bill of St. George’s United Methodist Church, with moderation by David Krueger.
