The prophetic role and influence of Mary and her lessons for communities of faith will be explored in a discussion titled “Mary, Mother of Jesus: Catholic and Muslim Perspectives” on Thursday, May 20 from 12 noon to 12:45 p.m.
Medical Mission Sister Maria Hornung and Ejaz Sabir will host a guided conversation via Zoom or Facebook, followed by an opportunity for questions and answers.

The event is part of the Dialogue/Face-Face series hosted by Interfaith Philadelphia, which offers these programs at no charge to the public.
Sister Maria, whose congregation is dedicated to the mission of being a healing presence in the world, has spent 10 years as a staff member and Fellow with Interfaith Philadelphia.
Ejaz Sabir is an attorney and an active member of several interfaith organizations, speaking to clarify misconceptions about Islam, civic engagements and immigrant rights. He has served as adviser on multiple Asian Affairs committees for the Mayor and District Commissioner of Philadelphia, and serves as a board member with Interfaith Philadelphia.
