Mass in the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite, also known as the Latin Mass, will be celebrated on the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus at 7 p.m. at the Carmelite Monastery of St. Joseph and St. Anne, 1400 66th Avenue, Philadelphia (19126).
Father Harold B. McKale, chaplain to the St. John Neumann Center for Rehabilitation and the interim chaplain to the Carmelite Monastery will be the principal celebrant and homilist. Father Gerald Carey, pastor of Our Lady of the Assumption in Stafford, Pennsylvania will assist as deacon, while James Griffin, acolyte at St, John the Baptist Catholic Church (Ordinariate) in Bridgeport will assist as sub-deacon.
The musical setting for the liturgy will be “Missa Tertia” by Lajos Bardos. Rebecca Ostermann, musical director and organist, will be accompanied by a quartet and schola.
All Catholic clergy and seminarians are welcome to attend in choir.
