Young adults in their 20s and 30s are invited to Malvern Retreat House for a weekend retreat to usher in the New Year.
The retreat, which will take place from Dec. 31 at 5 p.m. to Jan. 2 at 12 p.m., will be led by Father Emmanuel Mansford and Brother Samuel Thomas of the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal.
The theme for the weekend will focus on the Incarnation as God’s “yes” to a broken and fallen humanity and Mary’s assent to become the Mother of God. The response and “fiat” of Mary to the Father’s will is a model for all of us in our call to welcome and allow the Word of God to become incarnate in our own lives.
The weekend will include adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, the celebration of Holy Mass, Liturgy of the Hours, an opportunity for confession and spiritual direction, free time to fellowship and enjoy the winter quiet and beauty of the retreat grounds, a night bonfire and New Year’s social and more.
Participants are invited to be renewed in faith, give thanks for the blessings of this year and welcome the New Year with a listening heart, open to God’s grace and in company with Mary, striving to give a wholehearted and unreserved “yes” to Jesus Christ.
Malvern Retreat House is located at 315 Warren Avenue in Malvern, Pa., 19335
