Retired Deacon Joseph F. Windish, age 76, died on March 12, 2023.
Deacon Windish was ordained on June 4, 1989, by His Eminence, Cardinal Anthony Bevilacqua at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul. He was assigned to Nativity of Our Lord Parish, Warminster, where he remained until August, 1993. He was then transferred to Saint Cyril of Jerusalem Parish, Jamison, and served until his retirement on June 21, 2021.
Deacon Windish was born on July 10, 1946. In 1978, Deacon Windish earned a BS degree in accounting from Philadelphia University. He was employed Wachovia Bank (Formerly First Pennsylvania Bank) as a Vice President, until his retirement in January, 2000.
Deacon Windish is survived by his wife of 55 years, Joan (nee Hall); an adult son, Joseph F. Windish, III; and, three granddaughters.
Reception of the body, and a viewing will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2023, beginning at 10:00 AM, followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:30 AM Saint Cyril of Jerusalem Church, 1410 Almshouse Road, Jamison. Reverend Monsignor Robert J. Powell will be the principle celebrant. Concelebrating will be Reverend Timothy Buckley. Deacon Joseph Owen will be the Deacon of the Mass. Interment will be at Saint John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont. Reverend Monsignor Robert J. Powell will preside at the Rite of Committal. Interment will be at Saint John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont.
