Retired Deacon John Kreczkevich, died on Wednesday, April 5, 2023.

Deacon Kreczkevich was ordained on June 9, 2002, by His Eminence Cardinal Anthony Bevilacqua at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul.

He was assigned to Saint Barnabas Parish, Philadelphia, where he remained until his retirement on June 17, 2019.

Deacon Kreczkevich was employed as the maintenance director/care-taker at Saint Barnabas Parish for over 25 years. He retired from this position on May 30, 2007.

Deacon Kreczkevich was married to his wife Susan (nee McBride) since May 28, 1966. In addition to his wife, he is survived by an adult son, Alexander.

Reception of the body and a viewing was held on Thursday, April 13, 2023 followed by his Funeral Mass at Saint Barnabas Church.

Most Reverend Michael J. Fitzgerald was the principal celebrant. The homilist was Reverend John F. Babowitch. Concelebrants included Reverend Miguel Angel Bravo Alvarez, and Reverend John F. Babowitch. Interment is at Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery.
