In a first of its kind program in the Philadelphia region, Saint Hubert’s High School for Girls (SH) is expanding its existing partnership with Manor College and launching a new partnership with Jefferson Health.
The initiative, “Health Careers in 1-2-3” will poise SH students seeking healthcare careers to get a head start on that course of study before graduating high school.
“Health Careers in 1-2-3” refers to the three-step process of girls attending St. Hubert’s, Manor and then joining Jefferson Health.
Academically eligible students will begin taking college-level classes at St. Hubert taught by Manor professors for two years of college classes. Those students will then go on to perform their clinical work at Jefferson. In return, Jefferson is offering job placement for these students in one of its six North region hospitals.
Jefferson will also offer scholarships to cover the cost of Manor College classes for eligible St. Hubert students, and provide mentors, educational seminars and career fairs throughout the academic year.
The announcement was made June 1 by Dr. Lizanne Pando, President, Saint Hubert Catholic High School for Girls; Dr. Gina McKenzie, Principal, Saint Hubert; Dr, Jonathan Peri, President, Manor College; and Dr. Michelle Conley, Chief Nursing Officer, Jefferson Health-North Region.
