Saint John’s Hospice, a ministry of Catholic Social Services of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, hosted a community giveaway event Nov. 4 to mark the successful completion of its third annual “Boot Up Philly” initiative. The event benefited over 700 individuals including Philadelphians experiencing homelessness and impacted by poverty. “Boot Up Philly” distributed cold-weather essentials such as coats, footwear, socks, and undergarments to those in need prior to the upcoming winter season.
