See scenes from the Annual Archdiocesan Interfaith Prayer Service commemorating the life and legacy of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The Prayer Service, which took place at Saint Katharine Drexel Church in Chester Jan. 14, was sponsored by the archdiocesan Office for Black Catholics, the Archbishop’s Commission on Racial Healing, and local parishes serving the pastoral and spiritual needs of the Black Catholic community.
Archbishop Pérez was the principal convener of the Mass and was joined by Faith leaders from diverse denominations who proclaimed scripture readings and lead a reflection on Martin Luther King, Jr. Music was provided by the Saint Rose of Lima Independence Mission School Choir, St. John Chrysostom Church Choir, and the Philadelphia Catholic Gospel Mass Choir.
