The Episcopal Ordination of Bishop-elect Keith J. Chylinski, Bishop-elect Christopher R. Cooke, and Bishop-elect Efren V. Esmilla will take place on March 7, 2024 at the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Peter and Paul.
Faithful throughout the Archdiocese of Philadelphia are encouraged to pray daily for our new auxiliary bishops as they prepare for this liturgical celebration by using the special intention below.
The special intention below has been provided to parishes throughout the Archdiocese to be included in the Universal Prayer on Sundays leading up to the Ordination of Bishops-Elect Chylinski, Cooke and Esmilla on Thursday, March 7.
It will also be used at a special holy hour of intercession for the Bishops-elects that will be offered on March 6 at 7:30 p.m. at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul.
For Bishops-elect Chylinski, Cooke and Esmilla,
who soon will be ordained to serve
as auxiliary Bishops to Archbishop Pérez,
that they will be steadfast in preaching the Gospel
and building up the Body of Christ among us,
in union with all their brother Bishops.
Let us pray to the Lord./Lord, hear our prayer.
