Sister Theresa Egan SSJ, (formerly S. Euphemia), age 97, died September 18, 2024, at Saint Joseph Villa.
She was the daughter of James and Bridget (nee McGilloway) Egan. She attended St. Gregory Grade School and West Catholic High School.
Sister Theresa entered the Congregation of the Sisters of Saint Joseph Chestnut Hill, in September 1946 and professed Final Vows August 1954.
Sister Theresa ministered in the Dioceses of Allentown, Camden and Philadelphia.
She is preceded in death by her brothers Msgr. Brian Egan and Joseph Egan, sisters, Mary Egan, S. Catherine Egan, SSJ, Anne O’Brien, Agnes Dalsey, and Margaret McCunney. She is survived by many nieces, nephews and members of her Congregation, the Sisters of Saint Joseph.
Visitation by relatives and friends will begin at 9:30 am on Friday, September 27, 2024, at Saint Joseph Villa in Flourtown. A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 AM. Services will be live-streamed from the Saint Joseph Villa website www.stjosephvilla.org.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sister’s name to Saint Joseph Villa, 110 W. Wissahickon Ave, Flourtown, Pa 19031.
