Graduating seniors from Archdiocesan high schools in the Class of 2026 earned a record $695,442,175 in college scholarships, archdiocesan officials announced.
William E. Brannick, superintendent of secondary schools and schools of special education for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, said the total marks the highest cumulative scholarship amount in archdiocesan history. The funds will support graduates as they continue their education at colleges and universities nationwide.
Brannick shared the announcement in a brief video posted to the Archdiocese of Philadelphia Schools’ social media accounts.
In addition to academic achievements, 310 members of the graduating class committed to compete in collegiate athletic programs next year.
Archbishop Nelson J. Pérez recognized the Class of 2026 in a recent end-of-year message to students, families, and school staff.
“I am giving a special shout-out to the Class of 2026 as you celebrate graduation,” the archbishop said. He encouraged graduates to “live out your call to be a Missionary Disciple and a beacon of Christ’s compassion” during the summer and beyond.
