
Reverend Bernard C. Farley
Reverend Bernard C. Farley, retired, died on Thursday, August 6, 2026.
Father Farley was born on February 27, 1942, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is the son of the late James J. Farley and the late Emily J. O’Connor. Father Farley attended Saint John the Baptist Parochial School, Philadelphia, and Roman Catholic High School, before entering Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary.
Father Farley was ordained on May 18, 1968, at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, Philadelphia by His Eminence John Cardinal Krol. Father Farley served as Parochial Vicar, Saint Francis of Assisi Parish, Norristown; Saint Joachim Parish, Philadelphia; Saint Gabriel Parish, Philadelphia; Saint Anne Parish, Philadelphia; Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, Philadelphia; and Epiphany of Our Lord Parish, Philadelphia. He served as Pastor, Nativity B.V.M Parish, Philadelphia, from 1991 to 1995. He served as Chaplain, Saint John Neumann Center for Rehabilitation & Healthcare from 2000-2017. He retired from active ministry in 2017.
The Reception of the Body will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Philadelphia, on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at 9:00 AM followed by a viewing.
Most Reverend Nelson J. Pérez will celebrate the Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Concelebrants are: Reverend Thomas M. Higgins, Reverend Joseph D. Brandt, Reverend John T. Lyons, and Reverend Michael Ryan will be the homilist.
Father Farley is survived by his sister Catherine Farley Gallagher and many nieces and nephews.
Interment will be at Westminster Cemetery, Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania.
