Bucks County cemetery walk draws 100+ teens

Father James DeGrassa, parochial vicar at Our Lady of Grace Parish in Penndel, led the second annual nighttime cemetery walk for Bucks County youths Oct. 24. Over a hundred high-school-aged teens along with family members and local priests from the Bucks County area braved the cold weather to attend this popular event at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery.

Ministry of lector conferred on 14 men in permanent deacon formation

Fourteen men studying to become permanent deacons were installed into the rite of lector Monday, Oct. 28 at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary. Bishop Timothy C. Senior conferred the rite in Immaculate Conception Chapel in the presence of the men's wives. The ministry empowers the men to proclaim the Word of God in Catholic liturgical celebrations.

Girls, boys soccer champions crowned for Catholic League

The girls Catholic League soccer championship Oct. 27 came down to a historic nailbiter. In the second overtime period, defending champion Archbishop Ryan edged Archbishop Wood, 1-0. In boys championship soccer action on Oct. 28, Father Judge defeated Lansdale Catholic, 3-1.

Faithful come together in prayer for World Mission Sunday

Bishop John J. McIntyre was the main celebrant and homilist at the annual World Mission Sunday Mass on Sunday, Oct. 20 at the Cathedral Basilica of SS. Peter and Paul. The Mass commemorated the vital work of mission churches throughout the world and the support extended to their efforts by the faithful of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.

Pilgrimage of Faith in the Philadelphia Archdiocese

More than a thousand Catholics in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia made a public witness of their faith by participating in the Walking Pilgrimage of Faith Sunday, Oct. 13. Archbishop Charles J. Chaput was the main celebrant for the 6:30 p.m. Mass in the cathedral, which was filled to its 1,100 seating capacity.
