Sister Mary of the Holy Child O’Neill, I.H.M.
Sister Mary of the Holy Child O’Neill, I.H.M., formerly Sister Anne M. O’Neill, died on Oct. 9, 2008 at Paoli Memorial Hospital. She was born in Philadelphia and entered the Congregation of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in 1950. She professed her vows in 1952. She taught at various elementary schools in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia and in 1984 was assigned to Archbishop Prendergast High School where she served as assistant in the activities office. She later retired to Camilla Hall where her primary ministry was prayer. She is predeceased by her parents, William and Anna Kirlin O’Neill; her brothers, William and John; and her sister, Kathleen. A funeral Mass was celebrated on Oct. 17 at Camilla Hall. Interment followed in Immaculata Cemetery. She is survived by her brother James and his wife Mary Clare, numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and five cousins in religion, Sister Mary Imelda, I.H.M., Sister Maria Francine, I.H.M., Sister Susanne McRae, I.H.M., Sarah Susanne VanAnglen, I.H.M., postulant, Brother Charles Thomas Schreiner, B.G.S., along with the members her religious community.

Sister Marian Bernard Monahan, I.H.M.
Sister Marian Bernard Monahan, I.H.M., formerly Margaret Mary Monahan, died on Oct. 26, 2008 at Paoli Hospital. She entered the Congregation of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in 1954 and professed her vows in 1956.She taught at St. William School, St. Alice School and Villa Maria Academy, and shortly thereafter became associate professor of biology at Immaculata University. During that time she served on numerous college committees, participated in several grants, held memberships in various professional associations and was the academic advisor to students who were biology, chemistry and pre-med majors. She was known to firmly guide her students. After retiring from teaching in 2000, she continued as a counselor to students who were undecided about their majors. She is predeceased by her parents, Bernard and Mary Haley Monahan, and her sister, Rosemary Reichwein. A funeral Mass was celebrated on Oct. 30. Interment followed immediately at Immaculata Cemetery. She is survived by her brother James, a niece, two nephews and a grandnephew.
