Mater Dei Catholic School, Lansdale, celebrates its grand opening Thursday, Sept. 6 with a visit by Archbishop Charles Chaput.
After students arrive by 8:45 a.m., the Archbishop will lead a prayer liturgy at 9:15 at St. Stanislaus Church, Lansdale. Afterward he will lead a procession to the new school and bless it.
A school open house for the community will follow, with a reception in the school gymnasium.
The following day students will meet the school’s new mascots and enjoy a pep rally celebrating the school.
Mater Dei was formed after St. Stanislaus and St. Rose of Lima schools, both in Lansdale, closed in a Catholic school reorganization last June.
