The Philadelphia Chapter of the Knights of Columbus will honor two local leaders in the pro-life movement at their annual Columbus Day Dinner, to be held this year on Sunday, Oct. 16, 2 p.m. at Twining Hall, 4900 Street Road, Trevose.

To be honored as Man of the Year is Bill Miller, a former president of the Bucks County Pro-Life Coalition, who worked for the establishment of the Blessed Margaret of Castello Home for Crisis Pregnancies, and the Bucks County Community Women’s Center.

He also hosted a pro-life radio program on Holy Spirit Radio, and is chancellor and pro-life chairman for Regina Mundi Council 4052, Knights of Columbus.

Marie Joseph, who will be honored as Woman of the Year, is the executive director of the Legacy of Life Foundation and Community Women’s Center of America, which conducts two pro-life crisis centers in the area. She is also an author and speaker on pro-life issues.

“At a time when many of the core values of the Catholic faith are being challenged, it is an inspiration to see that there are still individuals who hold steadfast to their beliefs and are always ready to stand strong to defend the Church ideals,” said Jeff Scott, president of the Philadelphia Chapter, Knights of Columbus.

The Philadelphia Chapter, founded 111 years ago, is an umbrella group for 25 local K. of C. councils through which they unite for charitable works and programs, and also to have a voice in areas of concern to the Knights, especially issues of faith.
