Lectors who proclaim the word of God at Catholic liturgies are invited to a series of workshops beginning in the fall at various locations in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.
The sessions sponsored by the archdiocesan, Office for Divine Worship, are designed for all instituted lectors to provide ongoing formation for themselves and to assist them in their duty of training new lectors.
Each session will include an overview of the role of the Word of God in the celebration of the Mass, the expectations of the ministers of God’s Word and concrete practical points for more effective proclamation. Guidelines for the role and duties of the lector will be presented and distributed.
All lectors are encouraged to attend one of these two-hour sessions, which run from 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday nights. They include:
Wednesday, Sept. 18
St. Joseph Church, Downingtown
Wednesday, Oct. 2
