About 200 people from 14 different communities present in the Philadelphia Archdiocese enjoyed the Family Fun Picnic sponsored by the archdiocesan Office for Pastoral Care for Migrants and Refugees. The third annual summertime picnic was held at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary on Saturday, July 16.
The communities included Chinese, Indian Syro Malabar, Francophone African, Liberian, Haitian, Vietnamese, Pakistani, Nigerian Igbo, Indonesian, Brazilian, Sierra Leonean, Filipino, Portuguese and Ghanaian.
The people shared an international potluck lunch with plenty of food and drinks for all. It was followed by eight cultural performances by the communities that offered a mix of cultural dance and song. Children and adults also enjoyed games and shared laughter throughout the day.
