Catholic Community Services (CCS), a community-based outreach of archdiocesan Catholic Social Services, will co-sponsor an outdoor movie night at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 20 at the Lawncrest Recreation Center, located at 6000 Rising Sun Avenue in Philadelphia.
The evening will feature a screening of the film “Step,” a 2017 documentary directed by Amanda Lipitz that chronicles a girls’ high-school step dance team against the background of inner-city Baltimore.
Presented by the Philadelphia Film Society, the event will include snacks, giveaways and resource tables staffed by The Free Library of Philadelphia, the Salvation Army and CCS. The movie will be shown at dusk (7 p.m.).
Limited chairs are available; attendees are encourage to bring their own blankets and lawn chairs. Admission, which is open to all ages, is free. The event will be held rain or shine.
