Students of St. Peter the Apostle School, leaders of the Redemptorist congregation and lay faithful joined Archbishop Charles Chaput April 29 as he blessed and cut the ribbon for the new St. John Neumann Museum at the saint’s national shrine in Philadelphia.   • The ribbon is cut, opening the new museum to all visitors.

  • A visitor reviews artifacts in the museum including a habit of the Redemptorist fathers. St. John Neumann was the first Redemptorist priest in the United States, joining the order in 1842 after his 1836 priestly ordination.

  • Students escorted the archbishop and answered questions he had for them.

  • Students from St. Peter the Apostle School invite the archbishop to light a votive candle with them. His intention was for the school children.
