Catholic faithful in Philadelphia, many hailing from Latin America, celebrated the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe at the Cathedral Basilica of SS. Peter and Paul with a Dec. 11 vigil Mass preceding her universal feast the next day. Pilgrims streamed on foot from neighborhoods and parishes across the city to the cathedral, where Auxiliary Bishop Edward Deliman celebrated the Mass and reflected on Mary’s role in the Americas, and in the hearts of all, today.
