Sister Jean Frances Levenstein, S.S.J. (formerly Regina Frances Levenstein), died Feb. 3 at St. Joseph Villa, Flourtown. She was 89 and in the 70th year of her religious life.
The daughter of the late Abe and Cecilia Levenstein, she attended St. Robert Grade School in Chester and Chester High School.
In September 1949 she entered the Sisters of St. Joseph, Chestnut Hill, and professed her final vows in 1957.
Sister Jean ministered in the archdioceses of Newark and Philadelphia.
She is the sister of Rosalie Sherwin, Barbara Curney and the late Doris Totina. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and members of her Congregation, the Sisters of St. Joseph.
The funeral Mass was celebrated Feb. 7 at St. Joseph Villa.
