Sister Mary Goodbody, S.S.J.
Sister Mary Goodbody, S.S.J. (formerly S. Rita Margaret, S.S.J.), age 92, died May 24 at St. Joseph Villa, Flourtown.
The daughter of the late Charles and Margaret Goodbody, she attended Holy Saviour Grade School in Linwood and Notre Dame High School in Moylan.
In September 1947 she entered the Sisters of St. Joseph, Chestnut Hill, and professed her final vows in 1955.
Sister Mary ministered in the archdioceses of Baltimore and Philadelphia and the dioceses of Trenton and Wilmington.
The sister of the late John Goodbody and Betty Wiggins, she is survived by nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and members of her congregation, the Sisters of St. Joseph.
A private funeral Mass will be held June 2 at 10:30 a.m., and will be livestreamed at the Sisters of St. Joseph website.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sister Mary’s name to Saint Joseph Villa, 110 W. Wissahickon Avenue, Flourtown, PA 19031.
