The community of Immaculata University observed its year-long centennial celebration with a Mass Oct. 9, celebrated by Archbishop Nelson Perez at the Motherhouse Chapel of Villa Maria House of Studies. The Mass welcomed the university’s student leaders, faculty, staff and especially its founders, the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The I.H.M. Sisters founded the Catholic university near Malvern, Chester County in 1920 to serve young women. It began offering undergraduate studies for women and men in 2003.
