As the United States pauses to remember the life and legacy of Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., a concert in his honor will be performed by three Catholic choirs on Sunday, Jan. 16 from 3 to 4 p.m. at St. Raymond Church, 1350 E. Vernon Road in Philadelphia.
The choirs of St. Athanasius Parish, St. Raymond Parish and St. Vincent de Paul Parish, all in Philadelphia, will perform along with Joliet Harris — soloist choir member and assistant choir director at Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church — singing the music of Mahalia Jackson.
There will be time for reflection, prayer and being restored in hope.
There is no cost to attend and all are welcome. All are asked to wear a mask given the current status of the pandemic.
Those unable to attend in person can experience the concert via You Tube, and it will also be livestreamed at www.saintraymond.net.
