A new exhibit opening Oct. 18 will showcase several decades of Philadelphia Catholic history in photos.
The Catholic Historical Research Center (CHRC), home to the Archdiocese of Philadelphia’s archives, will present the works of longtime Catholic Standard and Times (CS&T) freelance photographer Robert Halvey, who for over 60 years documented the life of the church in the five-county archdiocesan area.
“Behind Halvey’s Lens: A Photographic History of Catholic Philadelphia” will launch with a welcome reception Oct. 18 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the CHRC, located at 6719 Calvert Street, Phila. Ample free parking is available off of Calvert Street.
The event will include a behind-the-scenes tour of the archives at 6 p.m. Registration for the opening reception is encouraged via https://tinyurl.com/bdhrvm5p
The exhibit will run through Oct. 1, 2023.
For additional information, call the CHRC at (215) 904-8149 or email archives@chrc-phila.org
