Reverend Joseph L. DiGregorio, Retired, died on Saturday, January 21, 2023. Father DiGregorio was born on December 25, 1939, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is the son of the late Bernard DiGregorio and Clementine Pace. Father DiGregorio attended Our Lady of the Angels Parochial School, Philadelphia and Saint Thomas More Catholic High School, Philadelphia, before entering Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary.
Father DiGregorio was ordained on May 21, 1966, at The Cathedral Basilica of SS. Peter and Paul, Philadelphia by Most Reverend John J. Krol.
Father DiGregorio served as Parochial Vicar, Our Lady of Loreto Parish, Philadelphia; King of Peace Parish, Philadelphia; Saint Thomas Aquinas Parish, Philadelphia; Saint Mary Magdalen De Pazzi Parish, Philadelphia; Annunciation B.V.M. Parish, Philadelphia; Saint Paul Parish, Philadelphia; Epiphany of Our Lord Parish, Philadelphia, and Saint Martin of Tours Parish, Philadelphia. He served as Military Chaplain, in U.S. Army from 1988 to 2005. He also served as Senior Priest, Stella Maris Parish, Philadelphia from 2010 to 2014, when he retired from active ministry.
The Reception of the Body will be held at Stella Maris Church, Philadelphia on January 28, 2023, at 9:00 AM, followed by a viewing at 9:30 AM. Most Reverend Edward M. Deliman will celebrate the Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Concelebrating the Funeral Mass will be Reverend Monsignor Richard T. Bolger, Reverend Charles J. Sullivan, Reverend Joseph J. Kelley and Reverend Charles J. Kennedy, will be the homilist.
Father DiGregorio is survived by his sister Stella Medaglia and nieces, and nephews.
Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Yeadon.
