Event Name: Saint Elizabeth Parish 2023 Stewardship Day of Service
Event Location: Saint Elizabeth Parish, 110 St. Elizabeth Dr, Chester Springs, PA 19425
Start Date and Time: April 22, 8:30 a.m.
Event Description: Saint Elizabeth Parish, in Upper Uwchlan Township, is busy preparing for another parish-wide Stewardship Day of Service on Saturday, April 22. This year, in addition to their regular Saturday event, they are offering a weekday service option for parishioners to serve in the community. Over 100 parishioners of all ages will spend the day helping local community organizations. Parish volunteers will be rolling up their sleeves to complete a variety of projects including spring planting, painting, packing and sorting of donations, cleaning, and much more.
The day will begin with Mass at Saint Elizabeth Church at 8:30 a.m. followed by a light breakfast and brief meeting to explain work assignments. Volunteers will then head out in teams to various locations in the Chester County area, in their colorful matching T shirts, to tackle half day and full day work projects. Some of the sites receiving volunteer help this year include Paradise Farm Camps, Thorncroft Equestrian Center, Camp Innabah, and a number of other agencies.
Anne Tymon, Stewardship Day of Service Planning Team Chair, reports: “This service event gives our parishioners an opportunity to provide outreach to the community and make a meaningful difference.”
Matthew Pfeiffenberger, Parish Services Director at Saint Elizabeth, notes: “The Parish Mission Statement affirms: … by the conviction of our words, the goodness of our deeds and the witness of our lives, we will reflect the presence of Jesus living within us…. Our Stewardship Day of Service provides parishioners of all ages the opportunity to demonstrate this conviction and to work with one another as we serve others in need in the greater community.”
