Saint Hubert Catholic High School for Girls in the Holmesburg section of Philadelphia hosted a Women in Technology Conference April 25.
The daylong symposium took place on International Girls in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Day as named by the International Telecommunication Union. The theme of this year’s Girls in ICT Day was Leadership.
Students in Saint Hubert’s Technology Club along with students from Little Flower Catholic High School for Girls in the Hunting Park section, and young women from Archbishop Ryan High School in Northeast Philadelphia participated in the daylong conference.
Students took part in activities such as coding utilizing Artificial Intelligence and had opportunities for mentoring sessions with female leaders from Philadelphia-area corporations.
Students heard from numerous speakers including Jeanine Heck, Senior Vice President, Comcast Corporation, who served as the keynote speaker. Students also participated in a panel discussion moderated by Jennifer Palloni, Regional Sales Manager, Cisco.
Girls in ICT Day is a project of Cisco Networking Academy, one of the world’s longest-running and purpose-driven IT skills-to-jobs programs with over 20.5 million learners worldwide.
