Catholic men, and their wives if married, with a deep spiritual life who are between the ages of 29 and 55, are invited to join an in-person panel of clergy for a Permanent Diaconate information session on Thursday, Sept. 19 from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary.
The session will explore the call to serve Jesus Christ and his church within the Archdiocese of Philadelphia as permanent deacons.
In Sept. 2022, the Office of Permanent Deacons premiered a 9-minute documentary on the Permanent Diaconate in Philadelphia, entitled “Called to Service.”
The video answers the question, “Who is the deacons?” And while educating the viewer on the origins of the diaconate, as well as identifying the sacramental union with all of the clergy, the video focuses primarily on the deacon’s main charism of charity and how he lives out this charism in the world through his ministry, in his secular vocation, and for those who are married – in his marriage and family life.

St. Charles Borromeo Seminary is now located at 1400 Evans Road in Ambler.
