Come and be uplifted as Valentin Radu conducts Vox Ama Deus’ performance of Handel’s “Messiah” on Dec. 20 at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul. The performance will run for two hours with no intermission beginning at 7:00 p.m.
From its first performance in Dublin in 1742, “Messiah” was a sensation. For more than three decades, Vox Ama Deus has presented to the Philadelphia region annual performances of Handel’s masterpiece, now a Christmas season tradition.
Remaining true to Handel’s vision, this is the complete work performed on original Baroque instruments. Maestro Radu puts a spin on the show each time, so no two performances are ever the same.
