A panel discussion exploring the connection between religious pluralism and the immigrant experience in the United States will take place Sunday, June 7 from 2:00p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church in Old City.

Titled “Religion and the Immigrant Experience: Building This Country Together,” the program will feature scholars, historians and theologians examining how immigration has shaped the nation’s religious landscape and how that history informs the future. Participants also will learn about the history of St. Augustine’s, an immigrant church that was burned during the Nativist Riots of 1844.

Panelists include Father Michael DiGregorio, Peter Pedemonti, and Catherine E. Wilson. The discussion will be moderated by Kathy Rigby.

The event is part of Interfaith Philadelphia’s “Religious Freedom: Then & Now” initiative. Additional information and tickets are available here.
