John Steinmetz
John Steinmetz, retired chief technology officer at SEI Investments, has joined the Board of Directors of Business Leadership Organized for Catholic Schools (BLOCS), a Pennsylvania scholarship organization that supports students through the PA Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) and Opportunity Scholarship Tax Credit (OSTC) programs.
A resident of Oaks and former PECO Energy executive, Steinmetz joins the board as BLOCS continues a period of significant growth. The organization now serves more than 43,000 students at 584 schools across Pennsylvania.
BLOCS CEO Rob Delany said Steinmetz’s experience in technology, operations, and organizational growth will help guide the scholarship organization as it expands its reach across the commonwealth.
Founded to increase access to need-based scholarships, BLOCS partners with more than 500 schools statewide and raises scholarship funds through Pennsylvania’s EITC program, which allows businesses and individuals to redirect a portion of their state tax liability to support eligible schools in exchange for tax credits.
The EITC program, established in 2001, marks its 25th anniversary in 2026.
