Immaculata names philosopher, expert in Edith stein, as new assistant dean
Sister Judith Parsons, I.H.M., Ph.D., has been appointed assistant dean of Immaculata University’s College of Undergraduate Studies. Sister Judith will also continue in her role as assistant professor of philosophy. Her new duties as assistant dean include serving as director of the honors program and coordinator of the honor societies. She will also be involved with study abroad opportunities, service learning programs, internship development and planning honors events and programming. Earning her undergraduate degree from Immaculata University in English, Sister Judith then received a second Bachelor of Arts degree in humanities from St. Joseph’s University. Bishop Finn convicted on one charge of failure to report abuse
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (CNS) -- Bishop Robert W. Finn of Kansas City-St. Joseph was convicted Sept. 6 of one count of failing to report suspected child abuse and acquitted on another count in a brief bench trial. Jackson County Circuit Judge John M. Torrence issued the verdict and quickly set and suspended a sentence of two years' probation. The charges carried a possible maximum sentence of one year in jail and a fine of up to $1,000.
